2010 started off with a bang! We welcomed the New Year with anticipation and excitement for our new adventures. Changes were headed our way....

Sophie celebrated the New Year along with the East Coast while the rest of us partied till 12 am pacific time. Sophie enjoyed bubbles and lots of yummy goodies to eat. We had a fun filled evening with Aunt Janette who we love! She came over and spent our last holiday in San Diego with us as we were about to begin a new chapter in our lives.
Goodbye San Diego..... Hello WashingtonJanuary ~ Packing, Packing and more Packing...
Our last Sunday in San DiegoSophie ~ enjoying snack time in Nursery with all her friends and awesome leaders!

Abby loved sharing treats with her primary class on her last Sunday. She has special memories that she will always remember with this cute group of kids. She spent birthdays, park days and of course a highlight that we will miss, beach days with them.

Check out this great group of Deacons! Caleb will miss all his friends and the fun scout trips they shared. Plus, two of the best church leaders anyone could ask for!

Here is another awesome group of young men! Like Caleb, Cody enjoyed many great scouting camp outs with these guys. Lots of great memories have been made and many wonderful life experiences happened because we were apart of a wonderful ward family. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all those that have helped bless the lives of my children through your love and great examples.
Saying Goodbye -
The Garton family will always be good friends of ours from our time in San Diego. Their daughter Amanda has lots of love for Cody and was sad to see him leave. Cody was a good sport and accepted a fun webkinz from her and got a good laugh at the sidewalk chalk masterpiece she created in his honor. Her brother's Alex and Andrew are close friends that the boys miss.

As we wrapped up the month of January I was overwhelmed with emotions. I experienced a wild roller coaster ride that started when Darren left for Washington before the new year began. We were apart for a little over a month and as tough as it was I am grateful for that experience. I grew a greater love and appreciation for my husband. It reinforced the importance of both a father and mother in the home and the special roles each parent plays. I realized how much love and support family and friends give and I grew closer to my Heavenly Father. I never felt alone because I had two boys that were my rock. They physically had the strength to help me pack up our home and they had the emotional strength to lift me during rough times. They stood up and filled in as a father figure for their little sisters. The boys will never know how much I love and depended on them during that month. As I dropped them off at the airport so they could join Darren and prepare for a new semester at a new school the tears began to flow. I knew I had a long week ahead of me. The girls and I still had final goodbyes with grandparents, final park days and play dates with close friends and I wasn't ready to leave San Diego. However, all I wanted was to be a family under one roof again. Thank you to all my special friends that made an effort to see me.

It was so good to hear from you!! I've been waiting for your re-entry to the blogging world. :)
So glad to hear all is well. Miss seeing your car every day though. Really miss seeing your smiling face as I drive by every day. :)
You'll have to check my blog for the most recent update on the preschool drama with Eden. *sigh*
I had heard awhile back from Kevin that Darren was thinking of taking a job in Washington but I didn't know you guys are already there! I hope everything is going okay and that the kids are adjusting well!
I am so sad to see that you guys left San Diego! I was hoping for one more girls night out at the yogurt parlor! Where are you at in Washington? I hope you are settling well and I am sure it was so stressful moving especially with out Daren. You guys are such a great family and I am glad we can keep in touch through the blogging world!!!
I'm still so bummed you're gone! San Diego won't be the same without your cute smile. Thank goodness for blogging so we can still keep in touch. Can't wait to see what life is like for you in Washington. I'm sure great things are coming your way. :)
Looks like you are leaving tons of friends behind in SD ... but you'll be gaining lots of new ones in Washington :) You guys are the best. It's so neat to see your kids getting bigger and to hear about how helpful and fun they are!! We love you guys. Glad your family is all together again.
